This is the lightest style of weizen beer. The grist contains a large portion of wheat, which lends a distinctive note to the malt body and aroma. This style is traditionally unfiltered and can have significant haze and cloudiness. Also, it has been brewed with a traditional Bavarian weizen yeast, which gives it a pronounced clove and spicy character, as well as banana and bubblegum, and even some slight vanilla notes.

On draught. A hazy yellow pour, the head dissipates into a ring of foam and leave some random lacing.
Aroma and flavor are predominantly malty and banana. There is an enjoyable candy circus-peanut and bubblegum flavor that persists.
An enjoyable Hefeweizen that delivers a satisfying experience on a warm day.

On tap at Brewer's. Beautiful hazy yellow/golden color with white head and decent lacing. Wonderful hefe wheat aroma, seems to be a touch of orange with the wheat. Flavor is excellent, good bready wheat base with some banana and I am still getting a touch of citrus orange. No bitter finish, very low IBU. Creamy, clean and smooth. Absolutely first class hefe, no experimentation here or weird adjuncts, just really nailed it.

An unfiltered yellow beer, cloudy without much head or retention. Smells like nice wheat-malts with a small hint of lemon.
The taste is characterized not so much by its wheat malt, but more for its prominent lemon zest. The wheat malt is there and of course makes gives it the characteristic hefeweizen taste, but the lemon flavor is more memorable. Its a little Pinesol-like, which usually turns me off of beers like this, but for some reason it worked for this one. It has an interesting mouthfeel that can only be described as a zing. Maybe reminds me of lemonade even, but not nearly as tart. Overall, easy and clean, refreshing and a good example of the style.
