This is a classic English Bitter. It is well balanced and has a light hop and malty aroma. The color is somewhat darker than that of pale ales, leaning more towards ruby red. Light in body and alcohol and easy to drink, this beer is one that can be consumed comfortably throughout a long evening at the pub. Owen's Ale won a Silver medal at the Real Ale Festival 2001, in Chicago, Illinois.

On cask @ the Brewpub 01-02-09
This beer is listed as a seasonal at the brewery. Has a very light hop and malt flavor & smell. The color is a little on the darker side than your average ESB more of a ruby red. Light body and easy drinking. Overall a so-so ESB even with the cask conditioning
