I've always liked Oggi's California Gold and was glad to see this available in bottles now.

Pours a golden tea color with a half finger white head that melts too quickly to a mere ring of white.

Aromas are of light sweet amber malt, light citrus hops, and a faint tea aroma.

Taste follows aroma...light sweet malts, faint tea, creamy citrus hops.

Mouthfeel is just slightly creamy making it feel like it has more body that the light and refreshing taste. Aftertaste is clean with a light alcohol warmth following each refreshing swallow.

16 Oz PET bottle form Sandy's in San Luis Obispo.

Chill hazed amber colored ale without any head formation.

Smell is very malty with a sweet tea aroma.

Taste begins sweet and malty as expected from the smell. Malt dominated beer with a big caramel aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is average.

Nothing at all remarkable about this beer. This is shipped in a PET bottle, in my opinion this was a mistake. This beer seems to have arrived missing something in the carbonation department.

Pours a one finger white head that vanishes leaving no lace. Clear, pale amber color. Almost no carbonation and light-medium bodied. Faint hoppy nose. Starts balanced and no strong flavor stands out, could make a good lawn mower beer. $2.08 for a 16oz plastic bottle from Hi-Time Cellars Costa Mesa, Ca.

I had a sample of this on draft at the new Oggi's in Scottsdale. It was made in California and shipped to Arizona. Color was a nice light gold. For a gold this beer did have a little hop aroma and actually had some hop flavor. Much better than most gold beers. Flavor was as expected to be pretty much non existant, like it should be for the style. Be sure and ask for a non-chilled glass. Oggi's is serving all their beers in iced glasses which I find hard to believe since they are a brewpub and should know better.
