Appearance- Pours a mahogany colour with 2 fingers of fluffy off white head.

Smell- Toffee, Caramel, nuttiness, cherry, plum

Taste- Pretty much the same as the aroma. The toffee, caramel, nuttiness, cherry and plum shine through. Surprised the intensity of flavours in this brew. This is more of a malt based beer with the hops hardly detected.

Mouthfeel- Light to medium bodied with light carbonation. Has a nice silky mouthfeel.

Overall- An enjoyable and well crafted brew. I enjoyed the intensity of flavours alongside the mouthfeel. Session worthy and worth a try for something different.

Pours a big frothy head, which rests under a deep chocolate-brown with burgundy-colored tint. Almost a root beer/Dr. Pepper color. No real lace.

Aroma is malt--big malt--which leans toward peat and grape must. Even a glimmer of smoke.

Flavor features peat, like a Scotch ale, even a hint of smoke and a bit nutty. Very malt-forward, and very English in vibe, although I can't say how true to style it is. Light sourness to the finish, kind of a young/unripe plum slant.

Gentle tingle in the mouth, with a good bit of creaminess and generally soft, easygoing, medium-to-light body.

A pleasant beer that has something going for it. Glad I tried it, but it ain't gonna blow anyone's mind or palate either.

Picked up a 6 at the local liquor store.

Pours a clear brown/dark orange, decent sized off white head forms, settles down to a thin layer, leaves behind some nice lacing. Smell is grainy, brown sugar, some chocolate, light roast, very bready, some light floral, mild but nice. Taste is light, some caramel, bread, brown sugar, milk chocolate, light floral, some acidity, touch of roast, not bad. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low to medium carbonation. Nice session ale, kept me interesting and is real easy to drink.

Not nearly as good as Nelson Brewing's After Dark. Dark ruby-brown appearance with a thick, expanding off-white head.

Mild sour malty smell. Notes of toffee, chocolate and hints of fruit. The full malty character is present, but fairly weak.

Underwhelming taste. Too sweet and to sugary to really be a dark mild. Very low hop profile, but big on the overly sweetend malts and toffee flavours.

Thin mouthfeel, a bit too slick for my liking. So what's the secret inredienty"

A: Ruby-black, fizzy off-white head, no retention or lace.

S: Slightly fruity & roasty, grainy, jaggery sugar.

T: Very mild, slight fruit, slight roast, grains, nut-bread.

M: Light to moderate body and carbonation. Fairly dry.

D: Very light/mild, doesn't taste as 'dark' as it looks.

Apparantly there's a secret that you can only tell by taste... I couldn't tell what the secret was.
