Ok, if you are going to go to the trouble of all the great packaging and the co-op with Purdy's Chocolates then you need to make a beer big enough to match. This is an ok chocolatey porter/stout? that would be fine in a $11 six pack , not however the $7 premium packaging. Sorry KB you need to do better than this gain market share in the craft segment.

Hmmm...not that Kamloops is the best brewery around, but I really expected better with Purdy's involved (although my wife, a pro in the chocolate business, considers Purdy's second rate).

Not really a dark mild, but more like a weak English stout. Dark, almost black appearance with a thin, creamy head. Smell is mainly roasted malts and dark, bitter chocolate. But mainly roasted malts.

Dry, almost bitter taste. For a "double" chocolate ale, there isn't too much in the way of chocolate in the flavour. There is a certain dry bitterness reminsicent of baker's chocolate or 75+% cocoa; but not really chocolatey.

Whether you call this a dark mild or a stout, the body does not live up to the style. Thin, watery; maybe a good session ale, but this beer does not deliver 100%.
