Route 66 Honey Blonde Ale

Drank while on a business trip in Tulsa Oklahoma. Poured into a pint glass from tap. Very light straw color. Looks very much like be light except for the superior amount of lacing left behind. Smell is also similiar to a bud, except slightly
ore malty. Taste is very interesting. I swear it tastes just like honey nut Cheerios. Outstanding. Mouthfeel is light with average carbonation. Overall it is a pretty good beer for this 104F day in Tulsa.

Color is light golden and clear. A thin but dense head of white foam provides the kind of sheeting and lacing you want to see in a beer like this.

Aroma is piney hops! What's going on here? This kind of beer at most brewpubs is on the menu to appeal to macro drinkers, right?

Flavor is light; some subtle honey with husky grains being the best descriptor. Hops are very present after a moment as a long-lasting and slightly drying bitterness.

Mouthfeel is a little parching on the finish.

This is a gateway beer? The menu says so, but I can't believe something with this much of a hop component would ever sway the "great taste, less filling" crowd. While this beer may not be "to style" exactly, it's the most welcome surprise on tap at this brewery.
