Admittedly I haven't had any Vienna Lagers so I don't have anything to compare with but here goes nonetheless.
Poured a decent 1" head that quite quickly reduced down to a thin whisker, a very nice dark red colour.
Roasted malt aroma that continues through to the taste with a sharp bitterness on the back of the tongue.
Very light mouthfeel given the malty aroma and taste. I was expecting something a bit more filling & sweeter.
I wouldn't rush back to this beer in a hurry but it's a style that I'd like to explore more and Red Oak should be commended for doing something different (like a lot of their beers i guess)

I really like this brewer, and i really like this beer. I'm right into red beers at the moment, and this is as good a new beer as ive tried in this fair land of ours for a long long time. The fact its a Vienna lager, and a good one at that only makes it all the better.
Pours a glorious copper/red hue, has a good foamy head that sticks and some real bubble action happening within. Aromas of malts, roasted almonds and caramel pervade the nostrils, along with some very fine hops. These elements are also present in the taste, which is also quite sweet, but is well and truly tempered by the use of some very spicy and dry hops which give this beer a magnificent finish. not perfectly balanced, but close to it.
Redoak has many fine beers on offer and this is pretty damn close to my favorite. They have had a crack at 2 dozen styles, and of the ones of tried, ive yet to note a failure. You have to respect a brewer who has to be cajoled into selling beer to a bottle-o because they are afraid it wont be handled correctly and therefore not reach the drinker in tip top shape.

Not a bad effort, certainly the first vienna lager anyones put out in Australia that Ive heard of, so good on em. A nice clear copper with very classy creamy irregular head that forms splotches as it settles. Heavy toffee aroma with DMS made me expect a sweet sticky mess, but the flavours were nicely balanced between toast and toffee, with a solid spicy bitterness. Bit of DMS surfaces again in aftertaste but not too bad. If anything this could use more/richer malt. Pretty damn good on the whole though.
