Drunk onsite at Clarence St. It was a cool, rainy evening, and a porter would hit the spot.... I think, however, this one is served a touch too cold
a) Dark & dense, with a medium size, caramel head
s) Roasted, charry notes... hint of burnt match head.
t) Roasted flavours, some chocolate/mocha. Fairly straight forward....
m) Not too heavy, slight sweetish feel to the mouth, without being too cloying. But as mentioned before, perhaps a bit too cold.
d) Could easily put a few away by an open fire

On tap at The Royston - 10/10/07.
A - Poured into Red Oak goblet a dark brown with a few centimetres of beige head.
S - Big roasted malt aroma backed up by some bitter cocoa.
T - Like the smell but with some dark fruit/molasses flavours coming through as well. Some sourness in the finish.
M - Medium bodied with a fairly high carbonation for a porter.
D - A decent porter. Nothing too exciting. I'd love to try their Baltic Porter though.
