Good color (Amber to light garnet), especially good smell for an IPA, good taste and feel. The only thing that holds this back from being very good is the high proportion of malt... If it was 6,3-6,5%, the bitterness would be perfect for a common and cheap beer like this. Overall, good IPA, a bit sweeter than what it should be, but with a surprisingly good smell

While I usually enjoy Eisenbahn, this is a miss. It's syrupy on the tongue, the alcohol flavor is overly sharp, both of which which cause the hops to play third fiddle. Honestly, it doesn't taste like any IPA I've ever had - not a good thing in this case.

355 ml bottle. Clear amber to light brown beer, not too much foam, which still is persistent and with some lacing. Subtle herbal nose. It shows some balanced caramel on mouth. Smooth feel, with hidden alcohol.

As their regular lineup version as “Eisenbahn American IPA”, no longer as Frosty Bison.
Amber copper color with a thick beige head with decent retention and leaving some laces.
Malty aroma with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, a bit of toasted grains and caramels.
Flavor with notes of grapefruit, slightly toasted and caramel malt, pineapple, some resin, tea, mint and stone fruit. Dry aftertaste with a delayed bitterness. It feels a bit lower than its 40 IBUs.
Light to medium body with appropriate carbonation. Alcohol of 6.9% is well hidden.
I found this is a bit more English than American and with more caramel than I would generally prefer. Still I would choose this over most of their lineup given my preference for bitter beers. I would rather have it less tea biased and more citric and tropical. Then it would be a killer with those prices.

Let's face it, there are few animals as American as bison. As the 4th winner of Eisenbahn's Concourso Mestre Cervejeiro, I think it's a fitting name for the winning IPA recipe. This time, it comes from a 500 ml bottle. On to the beer:

The beer has an orange amber color with good head retention and patches of lacing. The aroma takes on a mild intensity, filled with herbal notes and grass. It doesn't have the taste of the stereotypical American IPA, but it is a good beer. There's a pleasing caramel base which also spews notes of tea. The beer is nearly squeaky clean, medium bodied, and holds good drinkability for its size.
