Don't confuse this with regular Lust. While the Lust is aged for 6 months, Lust Prestige is aged for 12 months before being sold to the public. Oh, and this version is only sold in Brazil, and it comes with a black label. I picked up a bottle when I was in Porto Alegre months ago, and I felt this would be a good time to pop a bottle at Beachwood BBQ. On to the beer:
Sparking carbonation shines through the yellow-orange colored beer. A good billowy head forms on top of the beer on the pour. The aroma was delicate, yet very pleasant. Lots of "crème de banana", banana cake, and pear in the aroma. Not a jammed pack aroma, but very delicate and well excecuted.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the taste, but I have to say that it turned out better than I expected. The bottle label says to serve this beer around 2-4C (35-40F), but it got much better as it warmed. The taste isn't heavy for a beer its size; the key here is balance. Like the aroma, plenty of "crème de banana" to taste, it's bliss. It's like double layer banana cake with awesome creamy frosting. Notes of pear as well, as Halcyondays mentions. Carbonation wasn't the palate pelting type....rather gentle carbonation. A little bit of booze was felt, though it wasn't enough to get in the way of this beer's drinkability.
Wow, just wow. Eisenbahn Lust Prestige kicks the shit out of DeuS, and it's well worth trying at least once. However, you'll need to come to Brazil to purchase a bottle for yourself, and if you can find it, you'll be spending at least R$80 (or US $50) for a bottle.

From a 750 generously shared by DoubleJ, thanks Jon for a chance to try this ultra-rare gem, 2008 Vintage,
A: Pours a deep goldenrod, with a big champagne like head, solid retention.
S: Bananas, pears, very Belgian/yeast-oriented.
T: Big banana and pear type flavours, yeasty for sure, quite similar to the nose. Secondary notes of sweet yellow apples/White Burgundy/Chardonnay are the only real comparable quality with champagne in the flavour. Very tasty and gets better and better as it warms up.
M: Very champagne like. Soft, crisp and easy carbonation lifts the palate with a miniscule hint of ethanol. Not overly carbonated at all; this is where a lot of champagnes/sparklers and Belgians can miss the mark.
D: This is delicious and very easy to drink. After having Deus in the past and now this I'm very anxious to try more of this style, just wish they weren't so expensive.
