It can stay limited. Not pining for this one every day.

Smell is great with cherries, but the flavor is very muddled. Tastes like it isn't sure on what it is. Color is that of a wit moth cherry juice poured unit to Amber in color.

On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.

Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of wheat, earth, and slight fruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour wheat and cherry juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that has a better tart cherry presence in the taste in my opinion.

Since just by happenstance I'm apparently the first to review, I'll do it formally instead of just a simple score which has been the norm for me since introduced by BA.

Appearance is an "almost clear" medium orange with an extremely fast fading "almost" head. Fast pour will give you a lovely white head but it disappears so fast that you have to really look quickly. When the head is present the appearance is quite nice; otherwise, it looks like a medium colored/darker orange soda.

Smell is pleasant, fresh and inviting with light to medium orange/tangerine tones. There is a very light "burned" cherry tone to the smell, but I'm not sure whether it's real or just the power of suggestion since you know that cherries were used in the brewing and added. Bottom line: I get no cherry nose.

Taste is really hard to evaluate. Called "Tart" Cherry I get nothing tart. I do get burned orange peel; smoky tangerine and a light smoke sweet tea flavor profile. Again, nothing says cherry to me. All of this is rather strange since on the bottle it says "We recommend aging in a cool, dark space." This would indicate that the brewers anticipate some will age this beer. I don't get that. There already is no cherry character. Do the brewers want to make sure that we age it and insure that we don't get any fruit? Confusing. The beer is also not tart in the mouth, another reason why the "aging" comment makes absolutely no sense to me. There is a bit of old apple vinegar in the taste profile and some bitter brown tones. All in all, I might think differently if it was not called "Tart Cherry" and I didn't know that cherries were used in the making. There's lots of cooked/smoked/burnt wheat tones that I get and "almost like." I had some food with it and it marries nicely with a number of different food profiles, although there are better pairings with each profile I tried. I don't really like the taste but I confess that I keep going back to it, likely for the "bitter orange character" which appeals to me.

Mouthfeel is decent. Good medium carbonation and a rich and somewhat creamy mouthfeel that is pleasant and inviting.

Finish is all very long lasting bitter orange peel; bitter tangerine tones and smokey/cooked wheat character.

Not at all bad; somewhat unique; but not "outstanding" which is what a "4" means under the BA grading system. Thus, my scores reflect the foregoing.

PS A very cool shaped bottle with very cool graphics!
