The rich, complex rice flavors from the sake portion balance naturally with the malted barley and hops. Huge floral notes blend with fruit flavors of pear and pineapple, then round out with a signature, dry finish.

Bottle shared at Retsinis' tasting.
Batch 184. Bottled 11/12/14.
Pours a murky whitish-yellow with a foamy bone head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, earth, fruit, and slight spice aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, fruit, caramel, and sake yeast flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting use of sake yeast.
Serving type: bottle.
