Belligerent Bloke is a rich mahogany-hued, subtly spiced barleywine. Big caramel and fig notes balance against delicate spice aromas of ginger and allspice. Malt-forward flavors of ripe fruit and molasses dominate with complexities of light cinnamon and ginger spiciness in the background, leading to a velvety finish.

from notes-poured into an English pub glass
Dark brown with a reddish hue, short head
its a boozy beer, which is prominent in the nose. zesty yeast, and an almost wine like grape odor
the bitterness was tame, roasty dark malts, and a strong yeast presence. Most of the taste was of sour grape skin
feel was watery but smooth, yet slightly creamy. It is drinkable but was incredibly dry, actually the driest I've ever had. This beer didn't really stand out to me, you aren't missing much if you don't end up trying it

2015 vintage.
Pours a hazy copper with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, toasted coconut, ginger, and cinnamon aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, ginger, cinnamon, earth, and slight caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of ginger and spice that works well with the base beer.
Serving type: bottle.
