Served on-tap at the new brewery near Little Tokyo in LA, this beer was served in a pint glass. The beer was a hazy, dark golden color with a thin ring of head. Slightly sour toasted oats smells. The beer is bitter in the back of the mouth, with crisp and sour malt flavors balancing. Slightly sour aftertaste, but not overwhelming. The beer has a fuller body than most lagers, with a decent crisp finish. Not too shabby.

Appearance is a very light brown with whirlwinds of bubbles throughout the glass. A average pour results in about an inch of head that settles to a small ring (served at 12 PSI).

Smell is of yeast and hops with a tinge of sweetness.

Taste is like any traditional German Lager, a full-bodied taste without any flavorful hints besides the hops and yeast. This is a "beer" tasting beer.

Mouthfeel is medium with a tingling on your tongue. There is a slight bitterness to finish it off.

Drinkability is great, this beer is a class of "ocktoberfest" beer (in fact used in the Alpine Village Ocktoberfest in Torrance, CA). This beer tastes good and finishes well.

My opinion: I really like this beer and have bought a few of these kegs. I also enjoy it when Ocktoberfest comes around at Alpine Village.
