20oz glass on tap at the brewpub in downtown LA.
Darkish amber color, clear, small head with good retention and lacing. Smell is like a fresh handful of cascade hops. Bitter pine and fruit, with a caramel backbone that is blasted away by the hops.
Pleasantly surprised by this one.

I had a 23 ounce glass at the pub in the Westin, downtown LA.
The beer is a golden color with a faint citrus smell. In taste, it also has a fairly light citrus hops finish to a mild malt beginning. It is thus a balanced ale, but not especially memorable or tasty. Indeed, I did not quite finish my glass and wished I'd only ordered a pint -- perhaps so that I could have tried another of their beers on-tap.

"A light amber ale with a mild and malty background. Well-hopped featuring Cascade hops with a distinct floral finish."
The color is a solid amber and the clarity is pure (I can see the buildings through the glass). Not much of head, naturally, but it did leave very good ring lace.
Very nice aroma of fresh, floral hop.
Tilts to the hoppy side for American Pale Ales. The body is the only distraction to an otherwise fine ale; below average carbonation with a light body. The start of the flavor profile is surprisingly light malt tastes that are quickly overwhelmed by peppery hop. While not balanced, it is still well-crafted.
Note: ABV was 4.5%

On draft at brewery, 11/19/07.
Same golden-yellow color (give or take a shade or two) as their blonde, IPA and strawberry brews. Indistinct hop aroma (grapefruit, maybe?). Adequate head. Pleasing malt notes offset by moderate hop flavor. Well-balanced. Nice lingering hop bitterness on finish.
Competent but otherwise not notable.

This brew pours a light orange with small head that leaves a nice layer of lace. It's a bit of a simple brewpub pale ale, thus my Kafka-length review. There are cascades in the nose, spicy, earthy, and piney hops with a light malt spine in the taste. This is the best brew in BBC's line-up.

This was an excellent Pale Ale!! A nice copper color with a thin white head that left some lacing in my nice, beer clean glass. Aroma was spicy hops and sweet caramel in the background. The taste was more of the same with some biscity backbone. Definitely a contender with SNPA on tap. Very drinkable. If I am downtown again and cannot make it out to one of the other brew pubs I will definitely give this brew another taste.

The best of the beers I had at the Bonaventure Brewing Co.
It poured a nice amber color with a slight foam head. The aroma was subtle, a hint of pine. The taste was pleasant, earthy with a slight bitter aftertaste. It was very drinkable and will be my always be first choice at the Bonaventure.
