On draft at brewery, 11/19/07.
VERY dark brown pour with ruby notes if held to strong light. Nice head retention, outlasting the other beers on my sampler tray. Served on nitro, as creaminess of texture reveals. Aroma is all coffee grounds. Mouthfeel, despite creaminess, is somewhat thin. Rich coffee flavor overwhelms almost everything else, though a hint of roasted malts peeked through mid-taste. Didn't notice any hop character.
One dimensional.

It's dark brown, almost black and lets just a little light through the glass. A bit of roasted malt smell becomes slightly more pronounced as the beer warms. However, it never really builds up a head of steam. The flavor is pleasant but nothing special. It drinks more like a porter than a stout and goes down pretty easy.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
