I am not a fan of the hefe weizen style but this may change my mind. Pours a hazy funky orange color, strange color. Nose is big and fruity, dominated by aromas of banana and clove. Flavors comes across as yeasty, similiar to nose, body is light and somewhat fizzy, finish is long and seems to sour out. Nice beer!

The brewpub claims to have cultivated this yeast from Weihenstephan (which is my favorite German brewery). I had to give this one a shot...

Served in a pint glass, this brew sits pale and straw colored, very cloudy, topped by roughly a finger of white frothy head. Smell is akin to the Weihenstephan hefe (although slightly more subtle), lots of banana and cloves backed by yeast and bready malts. Taste is quite good - I was pleasantly surprised. Flavor is exactly what I want from a good hefe, bready smooth pale malts mixed with banana and cloves. Some other spices were present (maybe coriander?) but stayed minimal. Full body made for a really great experience. Surprisingly good clone of Weihenstephan hefe weizen.

Poured a pale yellow with a thick white head with moderate lacing. A gentle aroma of banana and cloves, and somewhat sweet. Malty with a good balance of flavors- yeast, wheat malt, and some esters. Plenty of body and lingering sweetness. A very enjoyable beer!
