Listed on the chalkboard as a smoked rye beer. High clarity gold, very few bubbles and absolutely no head. There was a carpet of little co2 bubbles stuck to the bottom, but the beer itself felt flat. It looked more like apple juice than beer unfortunately. The aroma was the finest attribute of this beer. Campfire smoke, some traces of bacon or smoked ham, and smoldering wood. Dry smoked malt flavor, very little spice from the rye malt. Dry finish, and rather thin and watery. Residual flavor seemed to vanish after a few seconds. It's lack of body was a deal breaker, it didn't support the mild smoky flavors at all. I was interested to try this when I saw it on the board, but it felt unfinished and needed work.
