12oz can. Stamped date on bottom is '12/11/24'. Label has the information of '69% organic ingredients'. Label has ABV% at 6.1%.
Dark brown colored body with a cherry red back lit edge. One finger of beige colored head quickly breaks up and results in islands and a ring. No lacing.
Aroma of roasted malts, fudge chocolate, and vanilla.
Taste follows the nose with roasted malts, milk chocolate, and vanilla. Slight mineral tone (from oats) and a touch of dark fruit. Has a cola vibe. Slightly sweet overall and the bitterness is low.
Medium mouthfeel. Slight tongue numbing after repeated sips, but generally the ABV% is well hidden. Okay carbonation.
The vanilla lightens the roasted malts and adds a bit of sweetness.

Vanilla is subtle and blends seamlessly with the base porter. Nicely done.

12 oz can with a December 2022 canning date stamped on the bottom from the Wall of Beer in Clemson SC ($2.29).

Appearance. Clear but very dark reddish-brown body with a disappointing beige head.

While the vanilla barely shoes in the bready aroma, it is more clearly present in the flavor. Even here it's more subtle than a typical "vanilla ___" beer. This is appreciated as it enhanced rather than masks the dark grain flavors. Initially served at about 37 degrees F, it improved with warming. 7.5% ABV but drinks like 4-5%.

Feel. A fuller, low carbonation lager.

A 22oz bomber picked up in Asheville - June 2018

L - Dark brown/ caramel, no clarity, some nice lacing left on top of the brew

S - Vanilla dominates, cocoa

T - Cocoa, vanilla beans. Easy drinking, and the 7.5% is totally hidden.

F - Thin body and light carbonation

O - A good porter, easy drinking and enjoyable.
