Right. This hasn't got a rating on Beer Advocate. This cannot stand!
Poured cool from 500ml bottle into pint mug.
A) Nearly opaque black, thin white head. Little carbonation evident.
S) Served cool, so not getting a lot. Slight chocolaty fragrance. Hints of alcohol.
T) A lot there in the first gulp. First is a toffee-malt hit, followed quickly by a bitter coffee taste that goes on and on. No nasty aftertaste, like you can get with some cheap English stouts.
M) Muted carbonation. Definite heavier mouthfeel than a lot of 'supermarket' stouts. Clean finish, doesn't leave with you with a nasty aftertaste.
O) Great beer from a good brewery. If you see it, buy it. No stout fan will be disappointed by this one.

Cask conditioned and served via handpump at the CAMRA Stockport beer and cider festival
A deep malt and hoppy aroma with liquorice throughout. Roast malt, friut and hops also carry through this full bodied stout.

On cask at the 2011 Belfast Beer Festival.
Garnet-tinged black with unbreakable tan froth. Big ashy nose with some stale coffee, toffee and booze.
Dark roast, black grape and charcoal up front with a biting espresso bitterness.
Leafy sweet end and ongoing bitterness. Medium more than full and very chewy.
Smooth but big, sweet but with bite. A superior stout. However, the depth and body are not there for an RIS.

Brewed in Barnsley, this beer is named after its twin town of Gorlovka in the Ukraine. Brown 500ml, bottle conditioned, poured into a vase shaped pint glass.
You aren't going to get a much darker beer than this, a true stout, Imperial or otherwise, jet black colour, with a tight tan coloured head on top.
Liquorice hits your nose straight away, dark chocolate malts can also be found if you sniff well enough.
Malty, hoppy and all mixed in with the overiding flavour of liquorice roots. Chocolate and coffee feel in there too.
Full bodied and almost creamy and rich, but no quiet that opulent or delicious in its intensity.
Easy to drink and a nice nightcap sort of drink, wouldn't want a gallon, but a pint was just Dandy.
