Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a dark walnut brown with a one finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, dark fresh and dried fruit, Belgian yeast. Flavor follows aroma; Belgian yeast and light spicing, caramel malt, plums with light dried plums and dates, brown sugar, and hint of citrus. Finishes with a light hop bitterness. Medium bodied with hints of creaminess. A nice dark Belgian with good fruit flavors, not too sweet and a pleasant non herbal hop bitterness in the finish. Well made in all categories. Tastes great and good mouth feel. I'm definitely trying the tripel.
