Flavored with Fine Coffee and with faint Chocolate Malt flavors with just a moderate amount of bitterness for a tasty treat. Good with your favorite dessert or just by itself.

The aroma has coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and a touch of sourness. The appearance is dark brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma and not quite to my liking. The palate is thin. Overall its not a very good porter. This is to sour to be good.

I was quite taken with this beer. It was a cold day and perfect for a glass of porter. I tried it at the Main Street Cafe in Jonesborough, TN.(A neat, historic little town in NE TN, has a hotel that George Washington and many other founding fathers stayed in). Served in a tall pilsner glass.
A: Deep black that reamined opaque when held to light. Ample, creamy two fingers worth of tan head which held good retention.
T: Dark chocolate and coffees with a nutiness that accented nicely.
M: Thick creamy and very chewy.
D: I could have sessioned this beer at the time, but had to drive a couple of hours home. A very nice beer from a small but talented local brewer. Their Scottish ale is delicious as well.

Sampled at the Main STreet Cafe in Jonesborough, home of the brewery, mine came out in a frosted 33 cl fluted pilsner glass. The liquid was dark brown and opaque under a full two finger tan head that settled slowly, leaving excellent lace. Good roasted malt nose, which got stronger as the beer warmed. Mildly carbonated and fairly thick mouth. Yup - good porter taste: roasted malts, a touch of caramel, but not sweet. A very slight hop presence cuts through a bit of the roasted flavor, but not enough to become bitter or dry. Nuts dominate the aftertaste, with just a hint of coffee. Good stuff.
