Another new seasonal that I just had to try for myself. I have found depot to be a mixed bag of sorts with their other offerings, but found this to be quite pleasant and really a nice change of pace. Very dark amber pour with a light bit of haziness to it as it pours. A small head of off white then caps off the top quite nicely.
Aroma is heavy piney hops, with a deep under belly of rich dark malts. It sort of got a bit confusing at this point as I was unsure which direction this one was going to take. The malts ended up winning as I start to pick up caramel and hints of some light spices. Nice and clean feel here as it rolls across the tongue, it starts out very bready and leaves a nice bit of cereal flavor on the tongue which is quickly washed away by a healthy dose of piney hops that cause a nice bit of a bitter finish to the whole thing.
Overall not sure what to make of it but it was very, very drinkable for sure. I would really have no trouble at all with a couple of these.
