Black color with a thin brown head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of brown sugar, maybe something mimicking toasted cereals and caramel.
Sugary flavor with notes of corn syrup, caramel and cola. Sweet aftertaste with no bitterness.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation.
I don’t recall the last time I had a Malzbier. Although this reminds of sweet memories of childhood, it is hard to drink it all given the high level of sweetness and being one-dimensional making it rather cloying.

My first Malzbier in six years! Hopefully it doesn't crush my hopes like Brahma Malzbier did. Well, I am pleased to report this Itaipava Malzbier isn't as bad, because this is at least drinkable. Still, it's very very sweet and it tastes like liquid dates with four spoonfulls of sugar.

Ending the cycle of Malzbiers available here in town. Balanced, within its limitations, is a reasonable choice within the style. It is very sweet.

355 ml bottle bought and consumed in Manaus Brazil.
Pours near black with a decent head and good lacing.
Aroma is sweet but still the high sweetness level in the flavor comes as a bit of a surprise. Way too sweet and syrupy, and I have more tolerance for this than many beer aficionados.
Full body with adequate, light carbonation and a very sticky ending.
