This brewery and the Burr Frosty were new to me, but thought I'd give it a go at Collins in Seattle the other day. This beer turned out to be quite delicious, even though winter is just about over.
The nose was all sweet roasty malts and coffee, and the beer had good head retention. The beer itself was just excellent, with flavors of sweet fig, coffee, mild smoke, mild licorice and fruit cake flavors. I don't know the abv., but it seemed a pretty good size beer, certainly in the 9% range I would imagine. The beer also had just enough hops to keep the beer from tasting tiring. All around a very good beer from Water Street Brewing.

Mostly a hoppy nose, both citrussy and woody, but there's also some nice roast malt underneath the hops.
Deep brown, barely transluscent. Great thick lasting head.
Very bitter start with lots of woody hop flavors (seems like Northern Brewer to me.) There's also a nice roast malt backbone. Kind of a combo of Brittish brown malt and a hint of the darker black malts.
Huge bodied with nice delicate carbonation. Feels a little heavy and strong but that's O.K. for a winter warmer.
Which kind of hurts the drinkability. This is definitely a sipper. It's big assertive hops and big body stand out.
