Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a rustic red color, subtle transparency. Some small bubbles of carbonation could be seen rising to fill a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Head fell off fairly quick. No lace. The aroma had some roasty nuts, citrus hops and grassy hops. Somewhat sweet, somewhat bitter, not blended. The flavor doesn’t seem to balance right between the bitterness and the citrus. Roastiness of the nuts seems to fade into a weird bitter coffee grounds-like taste. Quick bready/biscuity follows up and punches the aftertaste. The finish seems somewhat roasty and sweet. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation seems fine. Overall, a strange one to say the least. Not sure if I would have again. They brew better beers.
