I went to the reservoir for supper, and never realized it was also big tree brewing. They never really advertised the fact. That was too bad I may have tried some different beers. But in any case I bought Yellowstone at a store and brought it home before realizing I was at the brewery. I'd certainly recommend the restaurant. Had a great meal and the service was excellent. Wish it was open before 4PM is the only downside.
After the pour I'd say the look is awesome. I'm really a fan of the very hazy grapefruit flavored NEIPA styles. This has excellent haziness, drop a fork in it and you cannot see it once its an inch from the edge of the glass.
The smell is... WOW. Pineapple, apricot a bit of peach. After the pour it calms down in a minute, but the aromas off the bat are spectacular.
The taste is smooth. Some undertones of pine and resin well balanced with a citrus style fruit, perhaps a touch of lemon and lime. There is no IBU listed, but it has a very full mouth flavor and has to be 50+. The taste lingers in a very good way.
I wish I would have had this on tap the brewery ..... This is a very recommended brew for someone liking the NEIPA style. As I am going through my notes, this may be my favorite beer from my trip in that area, which is really saying something.
