BLOOD RED SKY sets a scene. Warm Caribbean sand, flickering candles, cold beer, & anticipation of the night to come. From this place came the inspiration for this brew. Jamaican rum barrels meet Scottish red beer in an explosion of cool spicy rum notes, vanilla, & rich fruit.

Copenhagen 12/8 2018. 33 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb F. Very dark and serious label. On the back a long explanation where they mention that the inspiration for the name comes from the Caribbean sunset. Sounds more to me like the title for a Slayer tune.
Pours clear very dark brown with a red hue and medium-sized off-white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick, frothy, fluffy layer of foam. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is not particularly intense. Caramel, light smoke, vanilla, wet cardboard, burnt malts, sherry - but not much rum apart from a little spiciness.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, creamy, soft texture.
Flavor is fairly sweet followed by light bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a little spiciness and a very light alcoholic burn.
Nice and spicy - even though I miss a stronger presence of Rum.
