Poured as a hazy looking pale in color. The head was thin big foamy kind of bubbles and white, but it was a beer fest sooo. The retention was bad, not any much lacing. The smell of the beer is hoppy, and clove like. Some of the malts blend with the hops on the nose, it's sweet and herbal smelling and odd. The taste of the beer has a solid bitterness with no malt. The hops are overly dominant in this beer at the beginning then drop off quickly. The mouthfeel was very thin. Overall I can't see myself drinking this one again.

Draft pint with dinner at their Brewmaster's Tavern in Williamsburg Massachusetts. First time I have seen this in their lineup.

a: Translucent dark gold with a finger thick white head which receded slowly to even surface foam and dense lacing. First time I have had a draft Opa come to the table with a significant head, much less retain it for the duration!

s: Fairly intense pine.

t; Pretty intense hops forward over a solid malt base. Bitterness lingers but not in an annoying way.

m: Medium plus. One of the heaviest mouthfeels I have had from an Opa beer yet, and that includesa their King Oak Milk Stout.

o: Tastier and chewier than their more potent Warthog DIPA. This could well vault Opa Opa to a higher tier of brewerydom, similar to what Limbo and Kind Ryed have done or ought to do for Long Trail and Otter Creek of Vermont. I'd not only definitely order this again, I'd buy a growler if and when I see one. This is excellent IIPA brew, which I had to restrain myself from finishing before I was done with dinner.
