Eagle Rare Bourbon Barrel Aged porter brewed for Austin Liquors to benefit local firemen charities.
jet black with an off-white head that quickly recedes to a thin film whilst leaving behind some lacing.
coffee, cocoa, molasses, vanilla, nougat. not too much bourbon, but some vanilla and woodiness are there.
starts with sweet molasses, vanilla bean ice cream, caramel, nougat, with an aftertaste of smooth bourbon. kind of odd that the bourbon comes only on the finish, but it's nice. pretty sweet overall, though.
a bit too thin for the flavor profile, but it's almost medium bodied with excessive carbonation
overall, one of the better OPA OPA beers I've had in a while, and definitely worth the $7.99 for a 2L growler, as well as a good cause.
