a nice hoppy pils, far more flavorful later on than their native texan pils, but just as easy drinking, which is nice. this one is more of a czech style with a pretty sturdy noble hop bite in the finish and some nice lemongrass, lime, straw, and cut flower characteristics to the hops as well, nice in the dry finish, its really all thats there at the end. pale yellow brew with an inch of white head patient on top. the nose shows a little of the lager yeast because the malt is so light, bready and old worldy, but cleanly done here and only there for a flash in the taste. hops are what lingers, fresh and bitter enough to make this really refreshing. i think its cool they have some nice lagers in their portfolio, between this, the helles, and the native texan, there really is something for every type of pale lager drinker, which i suppose is a near necessity in the texas summertime heat. i couldnt crush quite as many of these as i could the poundable native texan, but this is a tasty and drinkable glass of beer, pretty authentic.
