On-tap at the Draughthouse.
Attractive body shows a fiery, golden-orange hue with a hint of yeastiness. Good carbonation, and positively sticky lacing coats the glass all the way down. The aroma is slightly subdued, but delivers notes of pine, tropical fruit, and bready malt.
The flavor is an absolute torrent of delicious Citra hops. Lots of mango, papaya, and pineapple blend together with a smacking of bitter, resinous pine in the finish. Solid malt backbone adds a crackery, caramel sweetness to balance the hoppy onslaught. Mouthfeel is spot-on for the style: well-carbonated, clean, crisp, and medium on the palate. Overall, Citrafication is easily the best beer I've ever had from Independence, and one of the finest IPA's on the burgeoning Austin beer scene.
