This beer is one of the special beers from Falke Bier microbrewerie, which is located in Brazil, in the neighbourhood of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais State, countryside (450 km far from Rio, 550 from São Paulo).
This beer is a lager beer made with german pilsen malt. Some of this malt is manually toasted over direct fire, using a device originally made to toast coffee beans. The result is a partially roasted malt, giving to the beer notes from smoked to toasted.
Although being a lager, this beer has also a good ester profile, contributing to its balance. Nice amber/copper colour, with excellent head and small bubbles (they use nitrogen to complement natural carbonation).
As many brazilian beers, hop aroma and bitterness are not in evidence, but in this case maltiness and fruitiness play very well their role, giving the beer remarkable balance and drinkability.
