A- This beer has a dense brown body that is opaque with a bubbly light tan meniscus of head supported by some microbubbles that pop out of the murky body to trail up the glass.

S- The aroma of dry malt and toffee has some toasted bread aromas in the finish, but it is otherwise pretty clean.

T- The slightly roasted almost burnt flavor is dry, rich but also well lagered. There is a mineral water note that grows as it opens and some dry toffee notes in the finish. The coffee malt flavor lingers a moment after each sip.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat.

O- The rich toffee and bread flavors are nice and really well lagered to have a nice malt flavor without any bitterness and fruity characteristics. Good depth to a very drinkable dark lager.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark brown color dunkel with a small foamy head with OK retention and no lacing. Aroma of coffee and caramel is somewhat surprising but generally enjoyable. Taste is an interesting mix between some medium caramel malt with dry roasted aftertaste that concludes with medium dry coffee notes. Body is somewhat light with average carbonation. This was a bit surprising with more coffee and roasted malt that the style would suggest but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Mondiale 2010 bottle sample. Attractive Brown colour, no noticeable aromas or significant head. Ok mouthfeel and decent drinkability. Serviceable for the style. The Brazilian beers at the fest were passable, and not a most difficult style to make. Getting up to speed.
