Obrigado por compartilhando a garrafa, Sergio! Another new Falke beer to try. On to the beer:
Closer to dark brown than black. In fact, there are even a few hues of orange around the edges. The head is small, and so is the amount of lace. Things become better as I smell it, whcih yields some pleasing chocolatey and roasted espresso notes.
And it gets better. Tasting it, there's a soft, yet pleasing base of chocolate sauce. Sprinkles of vague wood add a unique note. A touch of roast round it out. What subtle in intensity, the flavor is very agreeable. It features a light feel with low carbonation. Quite easy, as it is just 4.5% ABV.
Not everybody makes a stout in Brazil, but Villa Rica is one, and more importantly a good one. It's a worthy alternative to the more widespread Baden Baden Stout.
