I tried this beer on October 17, 2007 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. It was on tap. The beer was a translucent gold colour with a loose white head. The aroma was a combination of hops, grass, and a little malt. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with some mild carbonation. The flavour was very pleasant with some malty tones and a little grain.

On tap at the Castle for Oktoberfest.
Tapped a lightly protein hazed darker gold...2 finger white rockey cap...moderate retention fair lacing....softly cabonated.
Aroma is punctuated with spicey Zatec hops and biscuity malts...a light acerbic mustiness from the lager yeast.
A good bite of pale Czech malts mingle with Munich amber breadiness then the balance is instantly struck as the spicy hops rush in, mid palate there is a light lemony-cider tone created as the malt sugars and hops mingle in subtle complexity...finish is moderate in duration, clean bready and spicy with a light biscuit after taste.
Good malt spine, soft mouth feel and more substantial body than their Pilsner, this tasted like an Austrian golden lager.
I tried one of these back to back with a fresh Stiegl and the flavor profiles are uncannily similar.
A good effort by this brewer to replicate that golden Salzburg lager style. if this is what he was after.

Sampled at C'est What's fall festival.
I'm not generally a fan of Pilsners, but I like the Stratford pils. On draft it has the fresh, creamy maltiness that I love. From the bottle it's a little more hop-forward. I was looking forward to trying this one, but perhaps my expectations were a little high.
A: Yellow-gold, slightly cloudy, no head.
S: Grassy, metallic hops with a slight breadyness.
T: Grassy, metallic hops, slight breadyness.
M: Light to moderate body & carbonation.
D: A good drinker, but I'd like a little more flavour.

On tap at C'est What? Festival of Small Brewers.
Pours a cloudy amber/yellow, absolutely no head, no lacing, pretty ugly looking. Smell is sweet, some citrus, caramel, grassy, not a whole lot going on. Taste is wheat, citrus, grass, a bit of spice, really dry finish, bit caramelly, not too bad. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low to medium carbonation. Doesn't look or smell like much but the flavour kind of redeemed it.
