I think billed as an "Imperial Common", 8.25% on cask at Volo Cask Days 2008. Stratford does some excellent lagers.
Pours a cloudy maple syrup brown, oranges highlights around the edges, thin white head forms, quickly settles down to a thin layer, drops a few spots on the glass. Smell is nice, caramel and brown sugar, very clean though, light fruits, strawberries and apricots, melon, bread, touch of iron and sour fruit, very nice. Taste is same, caramel and honey up front, very malty, lots of bread, toast, fruits, iron, sourdough and fruit finish, alcohol is insane hidden. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation, very smooth. Insane for the alcohol, really nice strong lager, kind of defies classification but I hope they do this one again.
