sampled at clarks real ale fest on 09-05-2004.

foamy bubbley head with a hazy mahogany color. resiny hop aroma
lots of hops leaping out at first. subtle body and a decent mouthfeel. hops seem to be the dominate player here in this beer. malt characters seem to be a little subdued.

I am a fan of anything made by middle ages. This one does not disappoint in an way. A wonderful hoppy color gives way to a moderate head. I would say one finger in depth. The scent wasn't too malty, but it was hoppy. The taste was the samr. Very hoppy. This is what I was looking for. It didn't have the watered down taste like another beer I tasted today (no names have to be named). It was an all around good beer. When I'm done trying everything that MacGegor's has to offer, this on will probobly be one of the ones I go back to. Good times.

A 100% Centennial hop varietal session-type pale ale, available at the brewery and at MacGregor's Tap Room and occasionally elsewhere.

Bright copper with a white head that settles down in its chair & hangs around for a while. Mmm - a citric Centennial hop flower presence with some sweetish malt in the aroma.

A slightly thin malt body supports a very subtle, restrained but very thorough hop presence - bitterness, aroma, flavor, front to back, this is a pale ale where the hop comes to the forefront. The malt that is there is somewhat honey-sweet, with the typical Ringwood diacetyl held very well in check. The finish is similar to many other Middle Ages brews, a hop-malt juiciness (for lack of better word) that makes you want more. A fine session ale, especially if (like me) you're a fan of the Centennial hop.
