Taster at FLOT. Light, clear amber pour, skimpy head, lacing. Toasted malt aroma and taste, notes of caramel, brown bread. Light sweetness. Minor dryness.

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a light reddish-amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells mildly toasty, with a touch of fruitiness.

This is fairly straightforward, with a bit too much watery feelings on the back end. There’s no real hop character affecting the flavor of this one, with some light toastiness, a touch of citrus, and breadiness.

This is very light bodied, but pretty crisp and pretty drinkable.

This is like most Middle Ages beers – kind of forgettable, but not awful.

Copper with a 1/2" light tan head, which fades to a wisp. Light lacing.

Aroma is malty, caramel, toast, a bit of phenols.

Taste is caramel, toast, a light nuttiness.

Light to medium body, light carbonation. Dry finish.

Good for what it is, Irish Red.

Pours lively with better than a two-finger collar that was loose, bubbly, and faded somewhat quickly without much lacing. It appears cherry pine amber color that is deep and clear.

The nose is big and sweet heavenly buttery caramel malt. Solid body, smooth and creamy texture that is accented nicely with a hint of hops and an effervescent tangy note that becomes less prevalent further into the experience.

Has a BIG toffee caramel flavor of malt that isn’t overly sweet…classic to style and is complemented by the nose. Two thumbs up!!

Don’t ‘dis-‘ the product because it isn’t jacked up with lactose and doesn’t look like your breakfast beverage.

I hope that the folks at Middle Ages are well and staying safe. Their creative craftsmanship is appreciated locally and throughout the region. I wish them well. Cheers.

Poured from a 16oz can into a pilsner glass, which I know is inappropriate, but my roommates refuse to do the dishes.

L: Completely clear, rusted metal body that poured some sort of head but is long gone, so I can't really describe it. No lacing.
S: Deep caramel malts smell. Also gets grain and yeast.
T: Not super offensive in any way. No bitterness and no real dominating flavors, aside from medium-roasted grains and a sour-ish aftertaste that isn't to my taste.
F: Super light mouth feel, almost lager-esque. Heavy carbonation.

This beer isn't for me. Looks really pretty, and I like Middle Ages, but falls short of my expectations.

Chilled can of Middle Ages Tipperary Red poured into a simple glass in late August of 2019. Aroma is assertively yeasty -- beery. The body is deep amber. The head is fairly thin; there is little or no lacing. The flavor up front is mostly carbonation. The aftertaste shows a toasted malt character with minimal hop bitterness. This has a lot in common with, but is better than, some of my old homebrew. I suppose it gets extra points for its throwback qualities.

The great thing about reds is they can be malty or hoppy. Both styles are acceptable. This one is neither. No hops, no malts, just a wierd bland red. Booooo!

You know I'm normally not a red fan but this one makes me reminisce about many a time on Tipperary. From the land of the inverted stop light: Sláinte!

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a nice looking finger’s worth of foamy white head. Slow dissipation, mild stringy lace. The aroma takes in a good amount of toffee to caramel tones. Some toast with a sly nuttiness to it. The flavor takes in the same aromas gently combining. Subtle tickle of a nutty to caramel aftertaste. Dry sweet toasty/caramel finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation feels good with a low amount of bitterness to it. Overall, good Irish red ale that i could have again.
