Review # 1800!!
Double dry hopped with
Citra>Idaho 7>Ekuanot
A bright white haze shines around the yellow-golden liquid. Thick stuff. White foam forms, but spreads out pretty quick. Not much in the way of sticky lacing and the foam cover is minimal at best.
The nose is loaded with deep tropical and stone fruits, vanilla golden malt and sweet citrus. Pineapple, bubblegum, orange citrus and golden field grains. The aroma is deep and lush.
The nose leads you to prepare for a sweetly tropical juice hop bomb, but alas! The flavor is actually much more pithy, dry earthiness and wheat grains overall. There is an orange peel style bitterness that lingers in the finish. Dried fruits and a funny fruit candy punch in the middle, the layers of hop flavor mounts up quickly. Dry, tart, stone fruity and field grains mixed, is a pretty accurate summery.
Mouth feel is medium bodied and dry to start, more full and lush, then very earthy dry to finish.
It seems as though the Ekuanot hop brings in some extra dry, bitter earthy tones and the Idaho 7 has that tangy, stone fruitiness. Citra does it's best to keep it more traditional and citrusy. Double dry-hopped sure does have a signature effect. I'm a fan.
