On tap at The Village Tavern in Geneseo, NY.
This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a tight white head, and lots of lacing.
This smells pretty richly malty and delicious, with brown bread, chocolate, caramel, and just a hint of smoke.
This tastes about as good as the old Custom Brewcrafters version of this usually tasted to me – they were a pretty bad brewery, but some of their restaurant creations, including this one, were honestly pretty good. This is nicely bready but not too sweet, with no real hop character that I can discern, and just a touch of almost malty dustiness and smoke.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and pretty drinkable.
I like that this beer still kind of exists these days. It was an old favorite about 10 years ago.
