This is a special Bock style beer, with low fermentation and higher alcohol content (5.5%vol.). It is prepared with mineral water and imported dark malted grain. Its stout flavor goes well with pastas, meats, sweet sauces and desserts.

Dark brown color with an off-white head and medium retention.
Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and prunes. Warming up some chocolate notes came up.
Flavor of toasted malts, some raw grains, and a good deal of hops (its best characteristic). Mildly dry aftertaste with a residual taste of dark malts.
Light to medium body with good carbonation and a mild spicy feeling.
This is more of a sweet Schwarzbier or Dunkel rather than a Bock as stated, though it is more fun anyway. A bit too sweet to my taste. An ok beer.

Pours a amber brown translucent color. Head is light brown and despite being creamy at first, it recedes after about one minute to a thin layer of foam. Lacing is below average.

Aroma is of yeast esters at first with some banana and other fruity compounds. I can then perceive some malty, toffee, caramel and chocolates notes. Also a little of DMS (cooked vegetables).

Taste starts malty and sweet with caramel and mollasses notes. A faint roastiness comes through very nicely to try and balance the sweetness but it still fails by a long shot. Aftertaste is lasting and sweet.

Despite the malty flavors this is a very watery beer with a low body. Carbonation is moderate to high. Alcohol is non detectable. Drinkability is ok but I wouldn't have more than one in one sitting since it is too sweet for my taste.

Overall this is an ok beer from Brazil but it lacks cleanliness and smoothness and it is definitely not like a bock. For starters the fruity aromas remind me of an ale a lot. I'm also missing those amazing round nutty and burnt flavors from the classic german style.

Who needs Black Tuesday when I can celebrate with the DaDo Royal Black I brought back for myself? The one I have comes in a 473 ml can, costing me R$3.29 from a hypermarket in Brazil. On to the beer:

The color isn't resemblant to its name. It shows ruby brown in a well lit place, with dark creamy brown hues towards the bottom of the glass. The head is somewhat soapy looking at first, but then drops to a milky cream texture. I'm not a fan of the nose. It's "bitter hoppy", astringent, with tiny chocolate malt and odd banana notes.

I'm not sure what this is supposed to be. I want to say dry stout, but even Guinness is better than this. There's a banana flavor that doesn't seem to belong. I'll admit it has a little appeal, but this tastes nothing like a bock, schwarz, dry stout, whatever you want to call it. Very lightly toasted grain, light carmel-like sweetness. It's light in the mouth with a smooth body.

That's all the Brazilian beer I get to have for the rest of the year, and I end it on a very dissapointing note. Maybe I shouldn't use DaDo Bier for finales, given the suspect quality of their beers. At least there's still the bottle of artisinal Mineira cachaça I have yet to open.
