The beer – “PrevAle” – a double California Common-style ale, is a unique brew that Gary Lohin (Central City Brewers + Distillers) and Matt Phillips (Phillips Brewing Company) dreamt up while attending the inaugural Victoria Beer Week back in March. With these two brewmasters at the helm, those lucky enough to get their hands on this limited edition brew can expect a balanced full-bodied beer rich in flavour that is sure to be talked about for years to come.

Just Tapped! - Vancouver Craft Beer Week Collaboration Beer "Prevale" Double California Common 7% - 70 IBU.. Central City and Phillips Brewing have teams up with 32 BC Brewers (including our own Clay Potter) to create this delicious beer. Big and bold with Northwest Hops and a pleasant finish...''
Was lucky enough to catch this one on tap. From the very first sip I knew I was into something good even extraordinary for a Double California Common. At 70 IBU and 7% the taste is bold and exciting without being obnoxious or overpowering. Very gratifying. Regrettably it was a one time collaboration brew but IMHO it is a commercial winner. Hopefully it will be so. I was so impressed I bought a 50l keg. Cheers

Really great beer that shines in both its originality and its execution. So full of flavour and yet incredibly drinkable. The base style is still apparent but the ale notes are amped up and the hops more to the front. First class colab that shows where BC is at on 2014

A very nice double california common ale.Beautiful light amber colour with a 2 finger thick long lasting head that leaves a beautiful lacing. Very well balanced, I would have never guess 70 IBU! A great collaboration ale between Central City and Phillips!
