I had this on-tap in a pint glass at the Elysian brewery in Seattle.

Appearance: medium orange with a moderate haze. Head is a thin layer of creamy ivory foam which leaves a filmy lace as it dissipates. Very attractive.

Smell: light and fruity with a good citrus character. Balanced and enticing.

Taste: relatively malty right up front. Sweetness is on the high side, and the citrusy hop flavor develops throughout but never gets terribly bitter. Quite smooth.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a very good carbonation and creaminess. I dig it!

Overall: this is a pretty quaffable beer. The flavor is smooth and mild enough that I feel like I could knock back quite a few of these.

Nice Collaboration Ale i hope they do it again. I only managed to get one 650ml bottle.
If they do again i hope they throw a few more hops in.

 

Pint on tap at Beer Revolution in Calgary. Arrived a orange-red near-bronze color with a finger of off-white creamy head. Aroma is clean, crisp, and fruity, orange, lime, and pine needle notes with an unusually pronounced yeastiness. This citric character carries over onto the palate, a solid showcase for the Amarillo hop, which to my tastebuds always comes across like orange vitamin C tablet with some tropical overtones. The malts are subdued and only slightly sweet. Body on the light side of medium, with brisk carbonation and that earthy yeastiness from the nose making its presence known right into the semi-dry finish. Less malt emphasis than many pale ales yet the hops are also rather retrained, a bright citrus character melded with a rather bold yeast strain. Curious.

A-pour is light gold from the bottle to a golden amber in the glass with a medium size off-white head that is leaving a spotty lace along the pint

S-tropical fruit , mostly mango

T-light refreshing ale , mellow & mild

16oz glass at Beer Revolution in downtown Edmonton.

This beer appears a clear, medium brassy amber colour, with one skinny-ass finger of wispy, chunky, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of indistinct webbed lace around the glass as things quickly fall away.

It smells of indeterminably fruity hops - maybe blood orange, white grapefruit, and a touch of underripe pineapple - plain grainy pale and caramel malt, ethereal earthy yeast, and more floral, weedy hops. The taste is peppy orange rind, muddled tropical fruit, even more innocuous pale malt than in the nose, ethereal suggestions of caramel sweetness, and mild green, leafy hops.

The bubbles are rather tight in their overall bearing, the body an adequate medium weight, and so-so smooth, the hops not really all that culpable here, sadly. It finishes mostly off-dry in its loping graininess, but with a now clean as the day is long hoppiness.

Not a bad single hopped affair, truth be told, but the Amarillo varietal seems lacking in comparison to recent experiences with its brethren in the IPA (versus the pale ale) realm. At any rate, its slight off-flavours are minimal at most, and it is indeed drinkable overall.

 

 

Poured from a 650 ml bottle.

A: Copper, an inch of creamy off-white head, lots of visible carbonation. Looks quite nice.
S: Fairly mild. A bit fruity, a bit sweet, a bit tangy.
T: Very mild. A beer for people who don't like the taste of beer? I expect some bitterness, I expect to taste the hops, but it's quite restrained. At the same time, there's enough there to not make this beer totally boring. I wouldn't say it's tasteless.

An excellent collaboration beer, it tastes like it is a mix of two worlds. Specifically of a dark Canadian malt mixed with an American IPA. The beer was malty with a twist of hops. The colour was of a light amber. It's like someone mixed a caramely mixture with gold. The beer fizzles but finishes with a golden note.
