understated appearance and aroma. Actually impressed otherwise. Nice to see a North American brewer staying within the parameters of the style, producing a very quaffable brew, and not trying to overdue it...

330ml bottle, day 4 of the Parallel 49/Central City Mystery Gift Holiday Countdown case. Nothin' like a summer brew in yer winter seasonal lineup, eh?
This beer pours a mildly hazy (but hardly 'opaque'), bright medium golden yellow hue, with two hefty fingers of puffy, averagely foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of sudsy webbed lace in places around the glass as it quickly recedes.
It smells of crisp, crackery pale malt, edgy Euro-yeast, kind of overwrought and semi-sweet coriander, orange zest, and a weird winter lozenge astringency. The taste is still rather sugary coriander, which kind of almost overtakes the yeast component, while the grainy, slightly wheaty malt and juicy citrus notes find cover somewhere beyond.
The carbonation is fairly peppy and fizzy in its ministrations, the body an adequate middleweight for the style, and generally smooth, with a strange, but all the same welcome creaminess. It finishes on the sweet side, the sugary coriander and muted malt holding the bag.
Yeah, this just screams out rushed job, or perhaps a calculated pandering to North Americans' lust for all things sweet. Whatever, it's way too simple, and one-sided, and not something I would care to revisit outside of this holiday conceit to which I've so heartily subscribed.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 29/11/14
A hazy light orange with lots of bubbles feeding a short lived finger of foam that leaves a few random patches of lace
S floral notes, orange marmalade, cereals and way too much coriander
T similar to the nose, I think the orange peel and coriander hinder the cause, overpowering everything else going on
M medium bodied, fluffs up quickly and flattens out, heavy spice finish
O the adjuncts completely run away with this one, would rate much higher if they held back a little on the spice and peel
OK beer but could've been a little better, I can see where their going but they over did it trying to get there
