With flavors as smooth and crafty as Gollum himself, the Gollum Pilsner (5% alc./vol) is brewed in the classic Bavarian tradition, using only the finest two-row barley, and hops from the Hallertau region of Germany. This light and golden Pilsner has a distinct hop aroma and flavour, with a dry, crisp finish.Like the One Ring which Gollum has spent his life pursuing, the “precious” pils, if your quest leads you to it, may not extend your life, but it may make your journey a little more enjoyable!

Look:
Pale Gold with a faint copper Hue. Brilliant clarity. Decent Head, with little retention.
Smell:
Little Intensity, with a somewhat balanced hop and malt smell leaning slightly towards the sweet. Nothing exciting on the nose.
Taste:
Low to moderate intensity. However, for a pils its a little more on the intense side.
Very slight sweetness, a little toasty. Hops are sharp, coppery and drying and stronger than normal for a pils. Finish is bitter with a medium finish but longer than normal for a pils.
Feel: Sharp and lively carbonation. with light to medium body. Fairy Dry finish
Overall:
I enjoyed this quite a bit. It was Sharp, Refreshing and Dry. A little more bitternees than the average pils. Exceeded my expectations, especially considering the cheesy theme and labeling. Living in Newfoundland the selection is limited, so i may pick this one up again.

Appearance - Pours a straw gold with two fingers of frothy white head.
Smell - bready malts, straw, grassy and floral hops, hint of citrus, and grains, subtle yeast
Taste - Bready malts start this off followed by the grassy and floral hops then goes into the straw, hint of citrus, grains, and yeast.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes crisp and dry with a lingering grassy and floral hop bitterness.
Overall - A refreshing and sessionable German Pils. All flavours are solid on all fronts. Worth a try.

650ml bottle - lots to like on the label for fans of the source material, but I'm not about to translate that block of Elvish, or whatever it is.
This beer pours a clear, bright pale golden yellow colour, with three fat fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and certainly bubbly bone-white head, which leaves some decent sudsy continental drift lace around the glass as it slowly ebbs away.
It smells of bready, biscuity pale malt, a bit of warm applesauce, ethereal gasohol notes, a touch of earthy yeast, and floral, grassy, and leafy hops. The taste is more grainy, bready pale malt, muddled drupe fruit, subtle yeast, a now ephemeral petrol astringency, and a nice leafy, weedy, and wet-hay hoppiness.
The carbonation is quite lively in its determined and pervasive frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and actually quite smooth, those old-school hops exhibiting some gentlemanly traits, it would seem. It finishes off-dry, a tad, the stocky pilsener-friendly malt loitering around, keeping the neighbourhood safe - from what, I dunno - twisted Hobbits, maybe?
A pleasant, well-rounded German Pils (which is what I'm rating this as), of that there can be no doubt - I chuckle looking at the AAL listing here, but hey, that's why pencils have erasers, amirite? Worthy as a thirst quencher after plodding half-way across a fictional landscape, and more than suitable for firsties, secondsies, thirdsies, ad infinitum.

Pure clear with a white head that drops. Slight malt sweetness with glorious floral hop flavours & aromas. A very well made pilsner.
