Appearance - Pours a hazy straw gold with three fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - Belgian yeast (clove, banana), spicy hops, hint of pepperiness, citrus (orange), bready caramel malts.

Taste - Belgian yeast (clove, banana) followed by the spicy hops, pepperiness, bready caramalts, and citrus (orange)

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with a light lingering belgian yeast.

Overall - A triple with the elements in place. I wish the belgian yeast was a little more predominate especially in the mouthfeel as it lacked in that department. Other than that, a enjoyable enough rendition of the style.

Look:
Clear Golden appearance, with slightly creamy slightly frothy head with moderate retention

Smell:
not overly intense. Got the tyipical clove and bubble gummy esters from the yeasts and a sweet malt smell. Couldnt pick out any hop expression

Taste:
The alcohol is heavy as expected. Fairy sweet, with chemical/tar flavor. Finish was soft with a little bit of a hop finish

Feel:
medium body, sugars coat the mouth. Carbonation is low. Slight Drying finish

Overall:
I am not to savvy with Tripels, but from what i know i find this to be a poor example. Wouldnt try this one again.

650ml bottle, at 9.5% ABV (reading labels, is like, so hard, eh?) - not familiar with this particular Orc from the Tolkien canon - maybe a rewatching of the trilogy from damned-near 15 years ago is in order for me. "Belgian"-style Tripel - are there really others?

This beer pours a clear, very bright medium golden yellow hue, with three fingers of puffy, bubbly, and sudsy off-white head, which leaves some random boiling sea lace around the glass as it eventually sinks away.

It smells of warm and toasty caramel malt, a further white bready graininess, apple liqueur, earthy yeast, more mildly astringent estery alcohol, and weak leafy, weedy hops. The taste is bready, doughy pale malt, a touch of further caramel/toffee sweetness, muddled drupe and darker black orchard fruits, white pepper, somewhat acrid yeast, and a sidling, barely bridled boozy measure.

The bubbles are fairly involved in their daring frothiness, the body a solid medium weight for the style, and tacitly smooth, the overall sugary character doing well by itself, but that sneaky-ass alcohol justifiably has a mind of its own. It all finishes on the sweet side, the bready, doughy, and caramel notes still pretty strong, the spice and yeastiness retreating, and the boozy-booze hovering, as always is the case in the realm of the Tripel.

Not a bad rendition of this heady and typically challenging BELGIAN style - sweet malt, middling spices, wan yeast, and a respectful enough big ABV. Not sure what this has to do with yer upper-echelon Orcs, other than the concept of generally unmasked strength - here, the victim is my seasoned internal organs, as it were.
