Disturbed from a bomber.

Appearance: A globe of light golden straw topped by quick foam dissipation.

Aroma: The olfactory introduction was sharp, an assault of both grape and feline spray. Moments later, however, the smell softened into delicate green, earthy yeasts.

Taste: Like the aroma there was a dual stage taste. The experience began with a burst of acidic fruit that was immediately undercut by its sweeter doppelganger. It was a fascinating play between revulsion and surrender.

Palate: The beer nibbles back at the mouth before scurrying off into rapid, crisp evaporation.

Overall: An oddly alluring beer. While I was on the verge of rejecting a sip, an immediately calming aromatic sweetness swept in and converted refusal into a subtle seduction. This was accomplished by faint bready malts, a mist of skunk, and small bushels of fruit-soaked hay.

Sample size a cool bomber with Mayor Kolsch himself on the label.

Pale straw colour slightly hazy with a grassy, slightly citric aroma.

As the label states it has a crisp, slightly but not at all unpleasant bitterness with a clean, slightly sweet, dry finish.

Worth a try if you're a fan of Kolsch.

Pale yellow body; lots of fine carbonation; thick, billowy, white head. Grassy, herbal, slightly grainy aroma. Light bread crust flavor; gentle hop presence. Medium-light body; mostly dry finish.

A tasty, simple, low-key ale that highlights lighter malts and a soft, gentle hop presence. Very drinkable.

22 oz. Bomber
ABV: 5%

Pours a very nice clean/clear golden yellow color, nice carbonation, with a very nice one-finger foamy white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, citrusy. The taste is sweet, malty, yeasty, with some citrus notes. Medium body. Overall, a pretty nice thirst quencher.

Central City Brewers 'Mayor Kolsch' @ 5.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $5.50
A-pour is a pale gold from the bottle to a clear light gold in the glass with a fluffy medium head leaving a spotty lace along the stange
S-German hops
T-crisp & clean with an uber dry finish
MF-ok carbonation , medium body
Ov-I'd vote for another Mayor Kolsch

Bought in a 750mL bottle from the local liquor store, couldn't find a bottling date though it shouldn't be so important here with a seasonal. The pour gives a slightly cloudy straw color, with one inch of head that decays moderately quickly. The scent brings up mostly cereal grains and german hops, with a very minute mustiness. The flavor is then a well-balanced combination of Hallertau hops and lightly toasted malt, Leading to a smooth and crisp beer overall. This is certainly an excellent kolsch, and were it not for the price (which can be attributed to the fact that it is a seasonal specialty), I would buy this all the time. I am very happy I picked this one up.

A nice, refreshing brew, aroma and flavour are similar to a pilsner but with a bit more fermentation character. Well carbonated and sessionable, this is a decent beer for a hot summers day.

16oz pint at Beer Revolution Oliver Square. Kind of a surprise find here, given that I've yet to see bottles of this show up to join its 'Detective Saison' sibling here in Alberta.

This beer appears a clear, rather pale golden yellow hue, with one skinny finger of loosely foamy and mostly wispy off-white head, which leaves a bit of random ocean atoll lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of weakly bready pale malt, white grape juice, red apple skin, a touch of earthy yeast, and leafy, herbal, and faintly grassy hops. The taste is quite fruity up front, the grape soda connotations strong, alongside a kind of overshadowed grainy pale malt sweetness, oxidized apples, rather sedate yet still noticeable yeast, a minor wet stone flintiness, and more plain herbal, leafy, and somewhat grassy hops.

The bubbles are adequate in their fizzy and frothy alternations, the body a decent medium weight, and more or less smooth, with very little hanging around to ostensibly spoil the show. It finishes still on the sweet side, as the gritty pale malt persists, all in the realm of that light orchard fruitiness.

Kind of a one trick pony, this one is, seemingly keying on the usually more subtle white wine and pome character of this new-found, old-school style. Easy to drink, I suppose, but just a bit too fruity, with the inherent sweetness, to make this one anything more than a barely sessionable recommendation.
