Big Bubbles bring out Betty (bamalam) leading to a large fluffy off white head capping off a copper/amber body. That power fluxx down the middle too.
Pouring I did get a whiff of maple sweet, but once the reviewer is settled in and has a chance to actually investigate the crime scene, all traces are absent. General toasted grains, earthy notes and a generic 'beer' bitterness that has nothing to do with hops. Bitter isn't even really the right word for it, but you know that kind of... that quintessential 'beer' smell from your friend's garage in HS? That's what I'm getting at. Eh.
Flavour almost has a hazelnut to it that kind of takes me by surprise. Other than that the nose gives a good indication of what to expect here. Mild roasted malts and a non-descript bitterness hold down the main event, though it's a little creamier than the nose gave credit. I seen someone mention creamed corn, and that's apt.
The creaminess is really pretty much the saving grace of this beverage. I get minimal maple which was the whole point of picking up the bottle, and it's otherwise a fairly generic melange of 'beer' flavours without much direction or joy. That creamy characteristic is enjoyable though!

Best by 10/28/15.
Pours a hazy orange-red with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, earth, and slight smoke aromas. Taste is much the same with metallic, grain, caramel, and earth flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty poor beer with fairly strong metallic flavors and no maple qualities to speak of.

The beer poured a reddish-copper color in a Brooklyn stein with a 4F head
which resolved in minutes.
The aroma is strong: fruity, malty, and earthy.
The mouth feel is tart, and the carbonation is not overdone.
The taste doesn't follow the aroma. It is more earthy, and has far less fruit. Nice lightly bitter finish.
With warming the aroma is more pronounced, and there is a little more fruit in the taste.
The maple syrup starts to come through- it is not strong.
Overall, this is very good Red ale. However, it would be improved by tweaking the recipe
to brew a far stronger taste. I like the lightly hoppy finish, tartness, fruit and earthy aroma.
Also, there was no info on the web site about the beer, which would be an added plus.

Smells like a hot dog burp. One of the strangest tasting beers I've tried. Just an odd combination of cream corn, smoked barley and diluted maple syrup. Weird.
