Appearance: Deep amber brown, with a robust, dense, tan head, with quite good retention. Thick, chunky, and largely unbroken lacing adorns the glass wall.
Aroma: The immediate impression that the aroma presents is that of heavily-spiced pumpkin bread. There is a note of spicy alcohol, as well, unsurprising in light of the relatively strong ABV of 8.0%. But, notable are cinnamon, cloves, ginger, allspice, brown sugar, dark malt, bitter cocoa, and sweet alcohol.
Taste: Opens with a wave of pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and allspice. Dark malt is also present in good amounts, with an undercurrent of brown sugar. Toward the middle of the taste, there is spicy, warming alcohol, though this is quite gracefully presented. Toward the end of the taste, there is a little bitter cocoa, and to bring the taste to its close, some modest herbal hops.
Mouth feel: Rather soft, quite full, with just a bit of carbonation, with only the slightest zest.
Drinkability/notes: Really very nice, a quite well-balanced example of the style, neither weak nor over-the-top. I found just a single bottle in a grocery store cooler last fall. I would like to have this again.
Presentation: Packaged in a custom twenty-two ounce brown glass bomber bottle, with a pry-off crown, served in a Save the World Brewing Company Teku.

Taste is a bit off for me. The is an imperial pumpkin ale. The alcohol taste overwhelmed the flavors. Good beer.

8% ABV, 27 ibu, 650ml bottle.
A - dark brown clear with half finger milky color head.
S - pumpkin, spice, cinnamon, eggnog. some fresh pumpkin skin aroma. toffee.
T - mid heavy smooth body, lingering sweetness I think it's come from the bourbon, nutty, pumpkin pie related tastes. liquorice.
O - very good beer, kick of bourbon barrel, pumpkin pie flavor, smooth body, not overly sweet. really balanced, especially with 8% ABV, great to enjoy in autumn. make me wanna explore more other kind of pumpkin ale!!

Patrick O'Pumpkin Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin Ale from Central City Brewing - 8.0% ABV - Pours a dark brown with a thin beige head that disappears quickly. The nose lead with spice and malt but not much else. I get definite bourbon notes on the tongue, molasses with slight pumpkin afternotes. The carbonation is quite active but doesn't really break through the sweetness. A nice little beer but it just feels like it falls short a bit. The nose and taste were very one dimensional.
